LSSN looking for Christmas gift sponsors

Each Christmas we collect wish lists from the children of LSSN clients and seniors in our Senior Supportive Services program and match them with "Santas" (sponsors) from our community.

Interested in Becoming Someone's Santa this Christmas? Santas may choose to support a family of any size, from two to even ten or more! Sponsor information must be collected no later than December 2nd, and all gifts must be at LSSN by December 16th.

If you would like to volunteer to help organize Santa's gifts this year in the week leading up to Christmas, contact Tristan Hightower at tristan@lssnv.org. He will work with you to schedule your volunteer time when we get closer to the holiday.

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada in the News

Fox5's Cassie Mlynarek came to LSSN to speak with Chief Programs Director, Cherry Richardson, Empowerment Services Manager, Mark Zellmer, and Family Case Manager Trnee Stephenson about the nearly $2 million grant we were awarded by Clark County for our Rapid Rehousing Program. Thanks to the grant, LSSN will be able to provide 60 literally homeless families in the valley with a home and other supportive services to help them become stable and self-sufficient once more.

Who Won the Peanut Butter Wars? 39,019 pounds gathered!

After a hard, month-long battle, the war is finally over! Lutheran Social Services of Nevada is humbled by the outpouring of support they received from our congregations. With the help of six local churches, they collected 39,019 pounds of peanut butter over the course of July-- by far their greatest total yet! Who won?

LSSN Peanut Butter Wars continue

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada holds a special drive every summer for one of our most popular food pantry items: peanut butter. Local churches, businesses, and groups are able to register to compete to see who could donate the most peanut butter, and the winner of the "war" will become our reigning champion and be recognized by LSSN. Lutheran Social Services of Nevada to Receive Funding to Help Homeless Families

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) is excited and grateful to announce that on June 18th Clark County Commissioners approved a grant of more than $6.1 million in marijuana business licensing fees to help provide nearly 600 beds for homeless families in our community through LSSN, HopeLink, and HELP of Southern Nevada. Of that $6.1 million, LSSN was approved for $1,970,781.00 to rapidly rehouse and provide supportive services to 60 literally homeless families with children.

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada is collecting Easter baskets

Every year LSSN works with individuals, churches, and businesses around Las Vegas to gather supplies and baskets for children in need. Will you help us create Easter baskets for children in need?
