Five leaders from the Grand Canyon Synod joined leaders from across the country at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, AZ. Lay leaders Ramon Encinas (Open Space, Tucson), Whitney Lennon (Our Saviour’s, Phoenix) and Brian Neely (St. Andrew, Las Vegas) along with Associates to the Bishop Pastors Jacqui Pagel and Miguel Gomez-Acosta attended “train the trainer training” to learn how to teach our congregations to grow their faith and deepen their relationship with God.

FILC is an opportunity for congregations to learn faith practices that “trace God’s movements in our lives.”

The course, instructed by Rev. Dr Dwight Zscheile and his team, led 5 synods in 20 hours of learning on leading our worshipping communities to stronger faith practices for everyday life. One third of all of synods now participate in FILC.

The team looks forward to sharing across the GCS the ways that we will get to live out our faith in the world by Connecting People, Creating Possibilities, and Communicating Jesus. There is more information at https://faithlead.luthersem.edu.
