Cal Lutheran’s Fifty and Better (FAB) 6-week Fall Session begins on 9/8/2021 and will include both an in-person course and virtual courses! Registration is now open.

Courses explore subjects such as U.S. history through the lens of baseball, how holidays we celebrate today were driven by historical forces, Vincent van Gogh and his influences, rock art in the ancient world, and more!

Worship services available for Holy Week and Easter

Save the date for two upcoming services, available for use on Monday of Holy Week, March 29, 2021. We’ll share additional details as we receive them.

In the Grand Canyon Synod, a Good Friday service is in the works, a project led by Pastor Jason Adams, Reformation Lutheran, Las Vegas.

A Region 2 worship for Easter 2 will be available, with Dr. Shauna Hannan, Professor of Homiletics at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, as the preacher.

Nine scholarships are available for California Lutheran University’s Executive Skills for Church Leaders program, which runs July 19-23, 2021. Our partnership with the Lilly Endowment and the Rocky Mountain Synod enables these scholarships.

Cal Lutheran’s Fifty and Better program is commemorating Black History Month by hosting two lectures.

On Saturday, February 6th, Daniel Newman-Lessler will survey the lives and music of Black composers from all over the world, and on Saturday, February 13th, Eleanor Schrader will explore the career of Paul Williams, “Architect to the Stars.” Register here.

Contemplative Action Groups for Grand Canyon Synod pastors

California Lutheran University and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary invite “actively serving” pastors of the Grand Canyon Synod to participate in this first Contemplative Action Group, which they hope to begin Thursday, January 28th.

Contemplative Action Groups provide spiritual growth, accountability, and discernment to congregational leaders who seek greater clarity and depth within their personal and public life.

Thriving Leadership Formation Group for Deacons

Deacons in ELCA Regions 1 & 2 are invited to participate in a Cohort group that is intended to help leaders thrive in ministry. The group meets on Fridays for 1.5 hours, every other week through June. If you are interested in learning more, please fill out this form.
