Women from across the Grand Canyon Synod are invited to gather for the annual Cactus Conference Spring Gathering, hosted this year at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church in Yuma, AZ. This one-day event will be held on Saturday, March 22, 9am - 2 pm, with the theme “Peace and Unity: Borders and Neighbors.”
The conference will feature a keynote address by Douglas Nicholls, Mayor of Yuma, who will share insights on the city’s western and southern borders and its relationship with neighboring communities in Mexico. This discussion will provide a timely and thoughtful exploration of how we, as people of faith, can engage with and support our border communities.
In the spirit of service, this year’s outreach recipient is Hunter’s Army, a local organization dedicated to supporting families and children facing medical challenges. Attendees will learn about their important mission and how they can contribute to their work.
Registration is $15 per person, with a deadline of March 17. We encourage you to gather friends and carpool to Yuma for a day of learning, fellowship, and faith in action. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other Lutheran women, hear from local leaders, and reflect on how we are called to love our neighbors.
