We pray for the family and friends of Pastor Frank Nausin, who died April 15, 2025.

Tanque Verde Lutheran Church shares: “Pastor Frank faithfully served as Lead Pastor of TVLC from 1982-2002, and again as Interim Pastor in 2016. We will forever be grateful for the leadership, inspiration, and love that Pastor Frank poured into our congregation over the years.

Please keep Linda, Tim, Jeremy, and their whole family in your prayers during this time. We ask that you help them maintain their privacy and peace while they spend this holy time with their family. As Linda is currently transitioning apartments, they ask that all cards be directed to the TVLC office. Details on a memorial service will be forthcoming.”

Advent in Harmony: Tucson Choirs Unite for a Festive Celebration

Tucson’s ELCA congregations celebrated the first Sunday in Advent with a joyful combined choir concert at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Over 350 people gathered to enjoy music from eight congregations and hear about Lutheran Campus Ministry’s upcoming mission trip to Guatemala. A freewill offering raised $2,950 to support the mission. Highlights included a stirring combined choir finale of “O Holy Night” and fellowship over cookies.

This is the only time we will be promoting church division! Tanque Verde Lutheran Church in Tucson is giving away a room divider, approximately 37 feet long, 8.5 feet tall. Each panel measures 44 inches wide. Divider hangs from a ceiling track. All parts in excellent condition.

I’m a Lutheran: Ryan Henry Mitstifer Walton

Ryan Henry Mitstifer Walton, member of Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, Tucson, Ariz. and a sophomore at Sabino High School, is featured in the May Living Lutheran.

Says Ryan: “I believe God subtly tries to push me to do things. While it’s not a force that controls me, I definitely feel God’s influence. My mom, Meredith Mitstifer, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was pregnant with me. Given I shared space with cancer, I believe I have to do my part to advocate and help other women be informed about this silent killer.”
