Scholarships Available for Transformative Retreat on Faith, Science, and Creation

You’re invited to Living into a New Story, a retreat held at the serene Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, Arizona, from January 23–26, 2025. This enriching experience explores the dynamic interplay between Christian theology, Earth-based wisdom, and the latest scientific discoveries.

Thanks to a generous donation, full scholarships are available for attendees sharing accommodations. If two people prefer single rooms, they each pay just $100. This makes the retreat accessible to everyone, encouraging a broader conversation about how faith intersects with the natural sciences.

Why Attend?

Led by Pastor Ron Rude and Sharon Reinbott, this retreat invites participants to engage with profound questions:

  • How might science and Earth’s wisdom reshape Christian worldviews?

  • Can God’s voice be found equally in Nature and Scripture?

  • What role do historic Creeds play when viewed through a scientific lens?

Sessions will explore themes such as the sacredness of the universe, hymnody inspired by ecology-theology, and re-imagining foundational Christian beliefs. Participants will also enjoy time for worship, journaling, outdoor reflection, and engaging discussions.

What You’ll Take Home

The retreat offers practical tools and resources for worship and preaching, especially for Lent, along with a hymnal booklet grounded in ecology-theology. Participants will leave with a renewed understanding of God’s creation and humanity’s role in it.
