Intersections of Grace: A Unique Methodist and Lutheran Gathering

On Saturday, November 9th, join us at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church for an engaging exploration of two faith traditions deeply rooted in God’s grace and neighborly love. This event, “Intersections of Grace,” offers both a brunch and an afternoon tea where we’ll dive into the shared history and unique gifts of the Methodist and Lutheran traditions. View a PDF flyer here.

Rev. Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes, who brings a unique perspective as someone baptized in the United Methodist Church and ordained in the ELCA, will lead the conversation. Dr. Windham-Hughes, currently a faculty member at Cal Lutheran, is dedicated to working within interfaith communities, making her the perfect guide for this dialogue.

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with a hot brunch, followed by thoughtful discussion. For those unable to attend in the morning—or those who want to continue the conversation—there is an afternoon tea at 1:00 p.m. Both sessions will take place in the Fellowship Hall of North Scottsdale United Methodist Church.

Whether you attend the brunch, tea, or both, this event promises to deepen your understanding of how our Lutheran heritage intersects with Methodist traditions, creating opportunities for reflection, learning, and community building.
