2025 Synod Audit Report Affirms Financial Strength and Accountability
The Grand Canyon Synod’s latest audited financial statements, as of January 31, 2025, are now available online at gcsynod.org/financial-overview. The independent audit affirms our synod’s solid financial foundation, transparent stewardship, and faithful investment in the mission and ministries of the church across Arizona, southern Nevada, and beyond.
Conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, the audit issued an unqualified opinion—meaning the financial statements fairly present the Synod’s financial position without any material misstatements. As of January 31, 2025, the synod reported total assets of $7.64 million and total net assets of $7.15 million, with $5.7 million unrestricted and $1.45 million restricted for designated ministries such as leadership development, advocacy, and support for Latino, Native American, and campus ministries.
Notably, $285,500 was distributed in financial support to a variety of ministry partners including Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest and Nevada, campus ministries at ASU, NAU, and UA, the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission, Cruzando Fronteras, and other local and national ELCA partners.
From congregational mission support and investment income to grant distribution and youth programming, every dollar reflects the faithful generosity of our congregations and donors. Our shared commitment to transparency and good stewardship is not just fiscal—it’s theological. As a synod, we are called to manage God’s resources wisely, ensuring that our ministries thrive and evolve to meet the needs of our communities.
