Tell Your Story: Help Us “Build Up the Body” for Synod Assembly 2025

As we prepare for our 2025 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly, we’re inviting every congregation, ministry, and partner across our synod to help us lift up the work of God in your communities.

Submissions are due by May 9, 2025.

Email your story—written, photo, video, or audio—to Communications Director Brian Flatgard at bflatgard@gcsynod.org.

This year’s assembly theme, “Build Up the Body,” is grounded in Ephesians 4:12-13, calling us to equip one another for ministry and grow into the full stature of Christ. We want to hear how your ministry reflects that spirit—through resilience, outreach, joy, creativity, or faithful presence.

You don’t have to be a professional storyteller to contribute. We welcome:

  • Short written reflections

  • Photos of ministry in action

  • Videos or audio recordings (2–3 minutes is ideal)

While not every story can be shared during the Assembly itself, we plan to highlight around 50 stories through our blog, Facebook page, and weekly newsletter. All submissions will also be gathered on a special online Assembly story page.

This is your chance to inspire, encourage, and connect across the synod. Whether you’re a congregation in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Tucson or Rock Point, Las Vegas or St. George, we want to see how the Spirit is moving through your ministry.

Be bold. Be creative. And most of all—have fun sharing how your ministry builds up the Body of Christ.
