Lord of Life has Special Benevolence Grants Available

Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West is offering grants to local non-profit organizations that are doing extraordinary projects, through its Benevolence Fund. This year, the application process remains the same as last year, with extended timeframes for applicants and reviewers based on feedback. Lilly Foundation's Compelling Preaching Initiative grant proposal submission deadline is 5/15/2023

Lilly Endowment is pleased to announce its Compelling Preaching Initiative. The primary aim of this initiative is to cultivate practices among aspiring and active preachers that can help them to proclaim the gospel to a variety of audiences in more engaging and effective ways.

In this open and competitive national initiative, eligible charitable organizations may submit proposals for grants of up to $1.25 million that may be used for up to a five-year period to develop new and/or enhance existing programs that present promising strategies to further the aim of the initiative. Pastor Amalia Vagts and Pastor Mateo Chavez receive Grand Canyon Synod International Travel Scholarships

The Grand Canyon Synod International Travel Scholarship is made available by a GCS pastor and spouse because they are grateful for such experiences in their own lives and ministries, and they want to make similar opportunities available to others.

This years’ recipients are Pastor Amalia Vagts and Pastor Mateo Chavez. Pastor Vagts will be using the funds to travel to Palestine and Israel with Wartburg Seminary. Pastor Chavez will be traveling to Mexico City to spend time at the Augsburg Lutheran Seminary there.

Hunger Education and Networking Grants are one of the ways ELCA World Hunger accompanies congregations, synods, organizations, partners and local teams throughout the US and the Caribbean.
