Serve & Witness: Volunteer at the 2025 ELCA Churchwide Assembly

The 2025 ELCA Churchwide Assembly is coming to Phoenix, and we need your help!

From July 28 to August 2, 2025, the Grand Canyon Synod will host this vital gathering of ELCA leaders, where decisions are made that shape the future of our church. This is a rare opportunity to both serve the church and witness how it operates on a national level.

We are seeking up to 100 volunteers to assist with key aspects of the event, including:

  • Welcoming and assisting attendees at the Phoenix Convention Center, nearby hotels, and Sky Harbor Airport.

  • Supporting worship services, including ushering and setup.

  • Helping with registration, tech support, and plenary sessions.

By volunteering, you’ll help ensure a smooth and meaningful assembly experience while connecting with Lutherans from across the country. Whether you’re greeting attendees, assisting with worship, or ensuring smooth operations on the assembly floor, your time and talents will be a gift to the church.

How You Can Help

There are 14 different volunteer roles available, each with specific shifts to accommodate your schedule. Some roles require lifting or standing for extended periods, while others are seated. Find the role that fits you best!
