Pastor Kari Williamson to serve as Dean of the Capital Conference
In this post, Bishop Hutterer shares a letter of thanks for the service of Pastor Sarah Stadler, Grace Lutheran in Phoenix, for her leadership as dean of the Capital Conference, and welcomes Pastor Kari Williamson, with St. Andrew in Phoenix, as the new dean effective 11/1/2022.
Dear synod,
Pastor Sarah Stadler is leaving her call at Grace effective October 31. Her presence and leadership at Grace has grown the ministry of outreach (i.e. pancake breakfasts, water, heat respite and so on) that extends into and across the Synod. With her leadership and vision, there have been many invited to be engaged in city ministry. I give thanks to God for her and this work among us these past 12 years.
In addition, I have appreciated and valued her input and support, in our shared ministry in the Grand Canyon Synod, from serving as Dean of the Capital Conference to offering her leadership on the Synod Assembly planning teams. I trust that you will also thank her for her leadership.
Effective November 1, I asked Pastor Kari Williamson, St. Andrew, to serve as Dean of the Capital Conference and she accepted! It is my hope that October can be a transition time to say farewell and welcome to leadership.
The Capital Conference has long been known for its collegiality. Thank you for modeling and living into this way of being church, and I pray this continues in new ways.
With you in Christ,
Bishop Deborah K. Hutterer
