The internet is an essential part of our daily lives, providing access to information, community, and ministry opportunities. However, navigating the digital world comes with challenges—misinformation spreads rapidly, online safety remains a major concern, and vulnerable individuals, including children and the elderly, can be easily exploited. On March 25, 2025, the Lutheran Faith Community Nurse Association will host a special Zoom event featuring Dr. Patricia Fosarelli, MD, DMin, to equip participants with practical strategies for engaging with the digital world wisely and safely.
During this session, attendees will:
Identify the various forms of electronic media and their impact
Learn ways to protect children, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals online
Discover strategies for recognizing and avoiding false information
Explore how digital tools can be effectively used in ministry
This event is open to Faith Community Nurses, non-nurses, and anyone interested in the intersection of faith and digital engagement. Attendees can earn 2.0 nursing contact hours upon completion.

Dr. Fosarelli brings extensive experience in both medicine and theology, currently serving as Director of the M.A. in Christian Ministries at St. Mary’s Seminary & University and holding a faculty position at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Her expertise will guide attendees in both protecting their communities and utilizing digital tools for ministry.
