In a significant gathering that saw over 251 Women of the ELCA voting members convene, Myrna Wells-Ulland from Phoenix, Arizona was elected the president for the 2023-2026 triennium during the Twelfth Triennial Convention held in Phoenix. This esteemed event, marking the first in-person convention in six years, witnessed the election of a new slate of officers and members for the churchwide executive board.
Myrna, representing the Grand Canyon Synodical Women’s Organization, shared her enthusiasm about her new role and the organization's path forward. Expressing her commitment and love for the initiatives undertaken by the Women of the ELCA, she ended her address with the powerful Hebrew phrase, "Hineni", meaning "Here I am, Lord. You called me. Use me."
The convention was a testament to the resilience, adaptability, and commitment of the Women of the ELCA, especially in light of the challenges brought by the pandemic.
