LAMA Liaison Roundtable: Engaging in Advocacy
Join Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM via Zoom for the LAMA Liaison Roundtable, held every third Monday of the month. This is a valuable opportunity for congregational leaders and members to discuss a wide range of topics related to advocacy and civic engagement.
The roundtable provides a platform for open discussions where you can ask all your questions and share your ideas. Participants will have a voice in planning future topics and discussions. Early suggested topics include:
• Civic Engagement and Voting
• Addressing congregational reticence about the term “advocacy” and how to act as advocates
• Introducing advocacy to the congregation in a non-threatening way
• Educating members on the importance of advocacy as part of our Lutheran heritage
These discussions are essential for fostering a deeper understanding of how we can engage in advocacy, a fundamental aspect of our Lutheran faith. Advocacy is not just about political action; it’s about living out our faith in the public square, standing up for justice, and ensuring that the voices of the marginalized are heard.
