Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: Synod Office Closure

The Office of the Bishop will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, January 21.

On this day, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose dedication to justice, equality, and nonviolent resistance continues to inspire our faith and action. As Lutherans, we are called to advocate for justice and reconciliation in the spirit of Christ’s love.

We encourage you to use this day to reflect on Dr. King’s vision, engage in acts of service, or participate in community events that promote unity and justice. Let us work together to embody God’s kingdom here on earth.

God of justice and peace, we give thanks for the life and witness of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Inspire us to follow his example, standing boldly for justice and working tirelessly for reconciliation.
