Help Ensure Every Vote Counts: Become a Poll Monitor with Election Protection Arizona

As the 2024 General Election approaches, Election Protection Arizona (EPAZ) is calling on volunteers to serve as nonpartisan poll monitors. This crucial role supports voters who encounter obstacles at the polls, helping them connect with legal professionals and resources to ensure their ballots are cast safely and securely.

EPAZ, part of a national coalition, works year-round to protect voting rights in Arizona, from assisting with voter registration to resolving issues at polling places on Election Day. As a poll monitor, you’ll be on the front lines, guiding voters through any difficulties they may face, from obtaining proper ID to understanding voting procedures.

Poll monitors must first complete a Zoom-based training session, pass a short post-training quiz, and sign up for shifts (shift options will be available after October 4, 2024, once polling locations are finalized). If you’re interested in this vital work, visit allvoting.org/afn2024 to register.

EPAZ welcomes all volunteers, but please note that travel and accommodations for out-of-state volunteers will not be covered. As Lutherans, we are called to advocate for justice and equity, and this is an important opportunity to live out that calling by helping protect the democratic process.
