Caregivers in Northwest Maricopa: Free Training & Support Program Launching This October
Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is offering free caregiver training for those caring for children under five in Northwest Maricopa County. Starting October 1, the seven-week program includes CPR certification, self-paced online courses, and weekly in-person sessions at Community of Grace Lutheran Church, 10561 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383. Are you a family member, friend, or neighbor caring for a child under the age of five? Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) is excited to introduce the Family Friends and Neighbors Program, a new initiative providing free, high-quality training to caregivers. In partnership with First Things First, this seven-week program will equip caregivers with essential skills, beginning October 1 through November 13, 2024, at Community of Grace Lutheran Church, 10561 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383.
Participants will gain knowledge on topics such as injury prevention, infant/child CPR, water safety, healthy eating, and more. The program offers in-person sessions, self-paced online learning, socialization opportunities, and even CPR certification—all for free. By participating, caregivers will be equipped with practical skills that ensure the health, safety, and emotional development of the children in their care.
Registration is now open for caregivers living in Northwest Maricopa County. This program not only offers valuable education but fosters a community of support, connecting caregivers with resources and each other.
