Lutheran Social Services of Nevada: Jackie and Jane's story
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) share Jackie and Jane's story, part of their Operation Home Program, whose goal is for 2,022 high-risk unhoused community members by the end of 2022.
In case you didn’t know, our volunteers and staff here at Lutheran Social Services are AMAZING! Our Empowerment Services Manager named Jackie shared this quick story from our Operation Home Program. The premise of Operation Home is that everyone deserves a place to call home. The goal is to get housing for 2,022 high-risk unhoused community members by the end of 2022 through different pathways to permanent housing utilizing a client-centered, community, collaborative approach. Here is the story from Jackie:
Jane fled from her home state to get a fresh start here in Las Vegas. She was in the program for only one week when I was able to get her an Emergency Housing Voucher. She got her son into daycare, she was able to find a job and we were able to find her a unit with a great location. She was very dedicated in getting her life straight 😊. I am very proud of all that she has accomplished for her and her son.
We serve hundreds of families like Jane's every week with grocery assistance, housing, ID recovery, senior services, and other programs for the most vulnerable among us. Our volunteers and staff do an outstanding job of serving people with great enthusiasm. Check out a quick example of that in the pantry video in this post.
Thank you for your support in this mission.
